On 7 May 2026, the new Chair of the OMVS Council of Ministers (PCM) and the Organisation's High Commissioner were received by Guinea's Minister of Energy following an inter-ministerial meeting on the Fomi dam project.
The delegation then travelled to SOGEOH headquarters in the Cameroun district of Conakry, where staff gave the leadership a warm welcome. SOGEOH management presented Corridor Vert OMVS 2040, the vision of a green energy corridor in the Senegal River basin.
The Chair praised the scale of the project, declaring that “this project belongs to humanity”, and urged members of the organisation to place community ideals above purely national interests.
